A Dream, In a World, In a Bed Review

A Dream, In a World, In a Bed ReviewIn A Dream, In a World, In A Bed (A Dream, In a World, In a Bed, or simply a Dream, In a World, In a Bed) is a hot sleeper RPG by Steve Jackson Games. This is another entry in the popular Jim Henson game series. Dream in a world, in a bed: what's not to like?Dream in a world, in a bed: the phrase is almost an oxymoron, and yet this game suggests it perfectly. It is a superbly animated and well written adventure game and is equally adept at expressing complex emotions through its characters. It's a game that could easily be enjoyed for hours on end, without needing to stop to think about what to do next. And yet, on a standard system it's not possible to play for more than a few hours.Sleepers are humans who need to be woken up in order to live - who don't remember anything after their death, only that they went to sleep somewhere. They can have permanent memories back, but have been taken over by 'The Being Who Sleeps.' The game is set in a small t own called Hammersmith, in England. It's here that the main character, The King, is trying to find out why his latest Sleepers, Emma and Jason, have disappeared. You play The King in this game, for you're a Sleeper too, and Emma and Jason are your children. As you explore the town and perform activities for the residents, you'll collect coins, which you can use to buy new Sleepers from a shop. While doing so, you'll also meet other characters and learn about them - and about yourself.Dream in a world, in a bed: in A Dream, In a World, In a Bed, you'll have to do several things to satisfy the objectives of your goals. For example, you must rescue Emma and Jason from the Hospital of Blood. You will find a ton of clues in the Hospital of Blood, including characters such as a musician and a gay lawyer.Dream in a world, in a bed: The Hospital of Blood is an ominous place: blood pools in the halls, there are bodies strewn everywhere, and you are aware that it isn't just a hospital anymore. A horrific plot is at work here, involving a mad doctor with sinister motives. You must rescue Emma and Jason and stop the evil doctor. After the two rescue you, you find out that the Mayor of Hammersmith, Mr. Pryce, has been taken over by 'The Being Who Sleeps,' which means that he knows something about the hospital and its subjects.Dream in a world, in a bed: And so begins the plot of A Dream, In a World, In a Bed, as Mr. Pryce, working with his henchmen, begins a sinister plot to steal a 'Composite Needle' from the hospital, and eventually control the lives of all its patients. Mr. Pryce and his thugs aren't your only problem though - you'll also have to save Emma and Jason and put a stop to the evil doctor. You'll discover clues about the hospital's past, as well as characters who will be joining your quest. You'll also find out that The Sleeper Within, the original love of Emma and Jason is actually a Dr. Selwyn, and that the true secret behind the Hospital of Blood is an old book that will be revealing itself as the story goes on.Dream in a world, in a bed: The most interesting thing about A Dream, In a World, In a Bed is how well-written it is, especially the second half. It's the kind of game that I'm sure that most people could play right through, without pausing to think about how to progress.
